First, the good news: MY FIRST DRAFT IS FINISHED!
This is the type of high that you can't get from drugs. I finally typed all 97,218 words that actually comes together to form an actual story!
There's so many people in this world who are aspiring novelists. I know, I was once one of them. We got great ideas and stories to share with the world, but, for many reasons, never get around to actually finishing a first draft. But now, I'm doing my happy dance as I finally did it!
Now the bad news: HOLY SHIT! MY FIRST DRAFT IS A MESS!
Before I finished, my goal was to relax for a few days. But, now that I actually finished reading through my first draft, I'm wanted to start the rewriting right away.
It's quite a humbling experience to realize how bad of a writer you really are. Typos, awful scene transitions, and very large plot holes. I literally spent thirty minutes tabulating all of the mistakes of my first page.
